How an engagement runs
A structured methodology,
first briefing to final delivery.
Every engagement follows the same five phases. Throughout, clients receive regular updates and strategic recommendations — and where necessary we work alongside tax advisers, financial consultants and technical experts.
The five phases
No file moves
before the map is drawn.
No file moves before the map is drawn.
The five phases
Phase 1
Understanding your business
We start with your objectives, your commercial pressures and the outcome you actually need.
Phase 2
Legal risk assessment
Every exposure mapped and weighted before a single recommendation is made.
Phase 3
Strategy development
A route to the outcome, with the trade-offs stated plainly and priced honestly.
Phase 4
Execution
Documents drafted, filings made, negotiations led, matters argued.
Phase 5
Reporting and continuous advisory
Regular updates and strategic recommendations long after the file closes.

Frequently asked
What clients ask before instructing us.
How quickly can you start?
Most matters are scoped within 48 hours of the first conversation, and urgent applications are taken the same day where court timetables demand it.
Will I deal with a partner?
Yes. Every file is supervised by a partner, and you have direct access to that partner for the life of the engagement.
How are fees agreed?
We agree a fixed fee, retainer, hourly rate, transaction-based fee or, where legally permissible, a success fee before work begins. Nothing is billed outside the agreed scope without written notice.
Do you handle matters outside Lagos?
We appear before courts and administrative bodies across Nigeria, and support cross-border work through our international bar affiliations and correspondent firms.
How is confidentiality handled?
All information shared with the firm is treated as strictly confidential and handled in accordance with applicable legal and professional obligations.
Can you act as standing counsel?
Yes. Monthly and annual retainers are available for organisations that need company secretarial support, compliance oversight and on-call advisory.
